Together with eight other celebrities and the performers of the Silvers Grand Magic Circus, Kerri recently starred in Channel Nine’s Celebrity Circus!

"I really had no idea what I’d be in for...but, as usual, I love a challenge, so I agreed to do it almost straight away.

One of the most awesome rewards for achieving success as an athlete in this country is getting invited to do things that are once in a life time!!!

The two most recent - participating in the Celebrity Race at the Formula One GP, earlier this year, and now Celebrity Circus.

These experiences have been added to the list of the most amazing things I’ve ever done!

Learning and then performing the Flying Trapeze was one of the most difficult journeys I’ve ever undertaken. Harder, in most respects, to winning Olympic Gold!

Not only did I have to learn this completely new “sport” and perfect it (at the age of 39!!) in just 6 weeks, it was physically more difficult than most sports I’ve played.

We also had to do it under the ever present eyes of the cameras, the cast and crew, away from home, (Melbourne), getting injured every day (I had bruises and cuts all over my body from the bar, net and platform which are very hard!!)....AND, on top of all that, I had to deal with the FEAR!

Now this was real fear, not an imagined fear. Not a fear of losing or looking silly, but a real fear of serious injury and pain if I didn’t listen and follow instructions.

I can tell you that my chest was thumping, every day!! That much adrenalin starts to hurt after a while.

Anyway, I got through it. It was an awesome experience, I pushed myself to new heights (literally) and I made a whole new bunch of friends for life.

An amazing journey, spent with some amazing people…….I’ll never forget it."
